Warranties

If you ask for a model we don't have in stock, we will look for the base watch before requesting any payment. If we can't find it, we'll let you know and the order won't go ahead, at no cost to you. If we do find it, we'll inform you of the price and availability; if the price or availability were to change before you complete payment, or if you don't respond after we've informed you, we'll let you know to confirm how to proceed.

Payment is made in full once availability is confirmed, and before we buy and modify the watch. If, after payment, we were unable to complete the purchase of the watch for reasons beyond our control (for example, the unit is no longer available), we will refund the full amount.

Once acquired and modified, the watch is subject to the same product warranty conditions described in this document.

As it is a watch acquired and personalized specifically for your order, the 14-day right of withdrawal applicable to distance selling does not apply, in accordance with article 103.c of the Consolidated Text of the Spanish General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users (goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalized).

The warranty does not cover damage or faults caused by the customer or by causes unrelated to our modification work, including:

• Knocks, drops, crushing or any physical damage after delivery.
• Opening, repairing, adjusting or tampering with the watch by the customer or by third parties other than Modificasio. Any external intervention voids the warranty on the affected parts and work.
• Damage from water exposure beyond the specifications indicated for each model (see below).
• Normal wear and tear: straps, buttons, finishes, scratched glass, battery depletion.
• Use other than intended for the product or failure to follow the care instructions.

By modifying the original case, Casio's factory water resistance is no longer guaranteed. We reassemble each watch with its gaskets and take special care with the seal, but since we do not individually verify water-tightness with a pressure test, we cannot guarantee water resistance. Therefore, unless specifically stated in writing for a particular model, the watches must be considered NOT water resistant: avoid immersion, showering and bathing, and limit contact with water to occasional splashes, drying it immediately. Damage from moisture or water ingress is not covered by the warranty.

Oil-filled watches (Hydromod) may, by the nature of this modification, show small air bubbles, changes in oil level with temperature or slight reductions over time. These phenomena are inherent to the process and are not considered defects nor covered by the warranty. Leaks or sealing failures attributable to a defect in our assembly are covered.

Our watches are made by opening and modifying an original Casio product. This process involves handling the case and the factory seal, so Casio's official warranty is voided in its entirety: from that moment on, Casio does not cover any fault of the watch, including the module. As sellers of the reconditioned product, Modificasio assumes, towards the customer, legal responsibility for the conformity of the complete watch, including the original module, within the terms and periods of this document. This means that if the module were to fail within the warranty period, we will cover it just like the rest of the watch, unless the cause falls within one of the exclusions listed above (knocks, water beyond specification, third-party tampering, normal wear, etc.).

To preserve the good condition and finishes of your watch over time, we recommend:

• Avoid intense and prolonged sun exposure, as well as sources of high heat (for example, leaving it inside a vehicle in the sun). Extreme and continued exposure can affect the finishes and prints.
• Avoid contact with water unless a resistance is expressly stated for your model.
• Keep it away from solvents, perfumes, cleaning products and harsh chemicals.
• Avoid knocks, drops and pressure on buttons and glass.
• Store it in a dry place at a stable temperature when not in use.

These recommendations are intended to extend the useful life of the watch. Aesthetic wear resulting from normal use over time is inherent to any watch and does not constitute a defect.

For any issue, contact us at [email protected] stating your order number and a description of the problem. If, from the description, it is clear that the cause is not covered by the warranty (for example, a knock or a drop), we will let you know before you send us the watch, to save you an unnecessary shipment.

If it is necessary to examine the watch to determine the cause, we will ask you to send it to us. We will assess it within a reasonable time and inform you of the result. If the issue is covered by the warranty, we will repair or replace it free of charge, with Modificasio covering the shipping costs. If, after assessment, it is determined that the fault is due to an uncovered cause (knocks, water, third-party tampering, normal wear or other exclusions), we will inform you before acting and the return shipping costs will be at your expense.

When an issue is covered by the warranty, the remedy that applies first is repair (or, where appropriate, replacement). You can only directly request a full refund or a price reduction if one of these situations arises: repair is impossible or disproportionate, we already tried to repair it and the same fault has reappeared, we do not repair it within a reasonable time, the repair caused you significant inconvenience, or the fault is so serious that it justifies an immediate solution.

If a refund applies, you must send the watch back to us; the refund will be processed once we receive it. In that case, we cover the shipping costs, as the issue is our responsibility.

By requesting the modification of your watch, you accept that opening the case voids Casio's official warranty and that the watch becomes covered, as regards our intervention, by this service warranty.

• Pre-existing defects, wear or damage to the watch prior to our intervention.
• The condition or operation of the original module and of the watch's own parts not replaced by us.
• Knocks, drops, water beyond specification, subsequent tampering by the customer or third parties, and normal wear and tear.
• Aesthetic results arising from the limitations of the watch provided by the customer.

The same conditions as in the product warranty apply: after modification, the watch must be considered NOT water resistant unless expressly stated in writing, and the characteristics inherent to Hydromod mods (bubbles, oil-level variation) are not considered defects.

The same care instructions indicated for watches modified by Modificasio apply (sun exposure, water, chemicals, knocks and storage).

We modify with the utmost care, but modifying watches involves inherent risks. Except for negligence on our part, our liability for damage arising from the modification process is limited to the value of the contracted service.

Before accepting your commission we will ask you to tell us the value of your watch; it is a mandatory detail to correctly manage shipping and its coverage.

Shipping your watch to our facilities is arranged and managed by you. We recommend insuring it for the declared value: without additional insurance, the carrier only compensates the legal minimum in the event of loss. This shipment is at your own risk until we confirm receipt of the watch.

The return shipment, once the watch is modified, is managed by us (its cost is included in what you pay). We will arrange it with insurance for the value you declared to us. If it were lost during this leg, we will be liable up to the insured value of the watch, provided the declared value is truthful.

Contact us at [email protected] describing the issue. If, from the description, it is clear that the cause is not covered, we will let you know before you send us the watch.

If it is necessary to examine it to determine the cause, we will ask you to send it to us. We will assess it within a reasonable time and inform you of the result. If the fault is due to our intervention, we will repair it free of charge, covering the shipping costs. If the fault is due to an uncovered cause, we will inform you before acting and the return shipping costs will be at your expense. If repair is not possible or the same fault persists after attempting it, the same criteria described in the product warranty for refunds apply.
